Lexus LFA REVIEW

The new Lexus LFA is an important moment in the history and development of two Lexus supercar. A true "clean sheet" design, created by engineers Lexus LFA small, passionate and dedicated the achievement has been pushing the limits of materials technology and engineering, at every stage of producing a car like no other has made the Lexus badge.
Built using advanced technology of carbon fiber, rear wheel drive Lexus LFA is supported by measurements on high-speed 552bhp 4.8-liter naturally aspirated V10 engine, adapted to a six-speed rear-mounted Automatic sequential, provide 200 mph-plus performance.
In the words of Chief Engineer Haruhiko Tanahashi, "The Lexus LFA is a pure racing car, a machine designed to achieve a single goal - to provide the ultimate driving experience over the past decade, we have pushed all boundaries and I. think our goal has been to create a car most oriented drivers we have. "
CARBON FIBER CONSTRUCTION
Keep the weight of the vehicle to an absolute minimum is one element in the development of the Lexus LFA and this led to the decision to use aluminum for the construction of a car for Advanced Reinforced carbon fiber plastic (CFRP) for the chassis and body.
In addition, Lexus has decided to carbon-fiber structure to be built in-house rather than through third party vendors. As such, it draws on the legacy of Toyota Motor Corporation in weaving technology to push the boundaries of technical skills, development of new woven carbon fiber and laser systems for monitoring the integrity of the material.
At four times the strength of aluminum, carbon fiber gives the Lexus LFA structures are very rigid and strong, and also offers the advantage of weight, equivalent to saving about 100 kg of aluminum body. CFRP accounts for 65 percent of the body in white, aluminum alloy used for the remaining 35 per cent.
Unlike some other vehicles on the market using CFRP constructions, Lexus LFA uses the same resin technology favored by advanced aerospace programs for weight and resistance to none.

ENGINE
The core of the Lexus LFA is the size, naturally aspirated V10 engine that sets new standards for compact, lightweight architecture and scintillating performance. From the beginning, it was determined that the machine must have a capacity of 4805 cc engine, developing 552bhp and groans rev 9000 rpm red line. Angle of 72 degrees between cylinder heads are ideal for achieving a balance in the engine to run very smooth, while providing individual throttle body electronically controlled for each cylinder provides excellent throttle response.
Using a dry-sump lubrication system allows the unit to be positioned at the bottom of the engine bay, lowering the cars center of gravity and moment of inertia, and allows the engine to handle sustained high speed in the turns.
V10 produces 480 nm of torque at 6800 rpm, 90 percent of what is available from 3700 rpm to 9000 rpm red line, thanks to dual VVT-i technology, the equal length exhaust manifolds and high volume fuel injection, 12-holes. This causes the combustion to accelerate at all engine speeds and at every tooth, there are 62 mph takes just 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 202 mph.
With a curb weight of 1480 kg, Lexus LFA has the power to weight ratio of 373bhp per tonne, while the specific production per liter 115bhp among the highest of any current supercar, aided by a high compression ratio of 12: 1 low internal friction and optimize the flow of intake and exhaust.
Despite its power, the V10 is a lesson in a compact and lightweight package, about the same size as the regular V8 and weighs about as much conventional V6. It is as reliable and smooth power than any plan other Lexus and more than Euro 5.
This machine was developed in collaboration with Yamaha through a partnership founded on the collaboration between Toyota Motor Corporation and Japan specialist engineering company.
TRANSMISSION
The performance of the V10 is managed by the transmission also develop goals designed six-speed sequential automatic (ASG), which drives the rear wheels through a limited slip differential. To help achieve the optimum 48:52 front-rear, weight distribution, it is contained in a transaxle mounted on the rear axle.

ASG is operated by paddle shifters mounted on the steering column and is designed to shift very quickly: an increase in reports can be done in just 0.2 seconds.
The system features four driving modes: Auto, Sport, Normal and Wet activated by a switch on the dashboard. Each mode has a specific program to change the speed and the braking and engine control system logic to allow the driver to adjust the cars performance to adapt to driving conditions.
